Harness the power of Pilates mat training to feel more balanced, increase core strength and flexibility. Enhance awareness, focus and concentration in your practice. We will weave Pilates concepts with a basic yoga practice to strengthen your core through breath and body consciousness. This class will begin with exploring the basic anatomy of the shoulder, trunk and hips and the importance of alignment in yoga poses that are especially difficult, making them easier to achieve. We will spend some time learning a series of mat exercises targeting the specific stabilizers, with a handout of the exercises to take home and add to a home practice or warm-up regimen. This class is perfect for yogis who want to improve their core strength, and/or Pilates followers who love the flow of yoga.
